Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)
Aerosonde® UAS
Field-proven fixed-wing & hybrid VTOL unmanned aircraft
Textron Systems’ Aerosonde® family of UAS has been designed for challenging missions over both land and sea, and has been proven with more than 650,000 flight hours in the harshest of environmental conditions, including desert heat and Arctic cold.
Offering extreme reliability and true multi-mission performance, Aerosonde® aircraft are powered by heavy fuel engines that can operate on JP-5, JP-8, F44, Jet-A, or Jet-A1. They can carry up to six payloads on a single flight, with over 40 different possibilities including:
- EO/IR imaging systems
- Maritime wide-area search
- SAR (synthetic aperture radar)
- AIS (Automatic Identification Systems)
- EW (electronic warfare) and SIGINT (signals intelligence) payloads
- LiDAR scanners
- MANET (mobile ad-hoc networking) communications
The Aerosonde® UAS family includes four different models:
Aerosonde® Fixed-Wing UAS Mk. 4.7
- Suited to constrained land and shipboard operations

Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs)
CUSV
Multi-mission & multi-payload uncrewed vessel
The CUSV (Common Unmanned Surface Vehicle) is a proven maritime capability that provides naval personnel with a powerful force multiplier while keeping them out of harm’s way, and has been selected as the system of choice for the U.S. Department of Defense’s first small USV program of record.
The vessel can be launched from ports, Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) and vessels of opportunity, and is equipped with advanced autonomy capabilities including sophisticated collision and hazard avoidance. The modular large-capacity payload bay can be easily and quickly reconfigured to serve multiple missions, including:
- ISR
- Mine counter-measures (MCM) – identifying and triggering mines
- Expeditionary warfare & maritime force protection – identifying and engaging remote targets
- Offensive mine-laying
- Non-lethal weaponry
