Bat UAS

Multi-Mission Tactical UAS Family for Persistent ISR and Expeditionary Operations

Product descripton: Bat UAS by Northrop Grumman Corporation

The Bat Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) is a family of affordable, medium-altitude tactical unmanned aircraft developed by Northrop Grumman for persistent multi-mission operations. Designed with a modular architecture, the platform can be configured with different fuel tank sizes and mission payloads to support evolving operational requirements.

Bat is optimized for a wide range of tactical missions, including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), target acquisition, electronic warfare (EW), and communications relay. Its distinctive blended-body airframe provides an exceptionally large 3.2 ft³ payload bay, allowing it to carry more mission equipment than conventional UAVs of similar size.

The system is fully autonomous and runway-independent, launching from a pneumatic/hydraulic rail launcher and recovering via a net recovery system. Powered by either a Hirth electronic fuel-injection engine or a heavy-fuel variant compatible with JP-8, Bat is designed for expeditionary military operations. The family currently includes 12-ft and 14-ft wingspan variants operated through a scalable IP-based Ground Control Station.
