X-P7 Heavy-Lift VTOL UAV

The X-P7 is a large, heavy-lift VTOL fixed-wing unmanned aircraft engineered to move substantial payloads over long distances while operating from constrained or austere locations. Designed around a turbogenerator propulsion system, the platform delivers the power and endurance required to transport payloads up to 280 kg for extended missions lasting up to nine hours, even at maximum takeoff weight.

At the heart of the aircraft is Pterodynamics’ proprietary Transwing® architecture, a wing-folding mechanism that retracts the wings rearward during vertical takeoff and landing. This configuration dramatically reduces the aircraft’s ground footprint, allowing operations in tight environments where conventional fixed-wing UAVs cannot deploy. Once in forward flight, the wings fully extend to provide efficient cruise performance, improved aerodynamic stability, and strong resistance to wind and turbulence.

The X-P7 is conceived as a multi-role aerial workhorse, capable of being configured for cargo transport, ISR, maritime operations, expeditionary logistics, and strike-related missions. With high cruise and dash speeds, a practical cruise ceiling around 18,000 feet, and a range of approximately 1,000 nautical miles at maximum payload, the aircraft is optimized for maritime and long-range security missions where endurance, payload mass, and operational flexibility are decisive.
