Alpine Eagle company
Alpine Eagle GmbH is a team of machine learning practitioners and aeronautical engineers, building a radically different C-UAS solution to address the rise of low-cost, autonomous drones.
Alpine Eagle overview
Founded in 2023 in Munich, Alpine Eagle is a European defense-tech startup at the forefront of next-generation counter-UAS innovation. The company was co-founded by Jan-Hendrik Boelens, former Airbus Chief Engineer, and scientist Timo Breuer, uniting aerospace expertise with advanced AI and sensing technologies.
Alpine Eagle’s flagship solution, Sentinel, is the world’s first airborne, AI-powered air-to-air counter-drone system. Designed to detect, track, and neutralize hostile UAVs—from hobbyist drones to loitering munitions like Shaheds—Sentinel combines machine learning, computer vision, and sensor fusion to deliver full-spectrum protection. The system includes an advanced OS that’s hardware-agnostic, making it deployable on a wide range of manned and unmanned platforms.
What sets Sentinel apart is its airborne architecture, which overcomes the inherent limitations of static, ground-based systems such as terrain masking and fixed deployment. Sentinel provides early warning, classification, and active interception capabilities using aerial assets such as kinetic interceptors or net-based neutralizers.
Alpine Eagle emphasizes scalability, modularity, and affordability, targeting both military and civilian use cases including border protection, battlefield operations, and critical infrastructure security. With early adoption by the German Bundeswehr and active testing on the front lines in Ukraine, Alpine Eagle has already proven its real-world value. The company achieved seven-figure revenue within its first year, underscoring both market demand and product readiness.
Through AI-driven innovation and combat-tested performance, Alpine Eagle is redefining how Europe—and the world—defends against the growing threat of unmanned aerial systems.
