Founded in 2023 in Munich, Alpine Eagle is a European defense-tech startup at the forefront of next-generation counter-UAS innovation. The company was co-founded by Jan-Hendrik Boelens, former Airbus Chief Engineer, and scientist Timo Breuer, uniting aerospace expertise with advanced AI and sensing technologies.

Alpine Eagle’s flagship solution, Sentinel, is the world’s first airborne, AI-powered air-to-air counter-drone system. Designed to detect, track, and neutralize hostile UAVs—from hobbyist drones to loitering munitions like Shaheds—Sentinel combines machine learning, computer vision, and sensor fusion to deliver full-spectrum protection. The system includes an advanced OS that’s hardware-agnostic, making it deployable on a wide range of manned and unmanned platforms.

What sets Sentinel apart is its airborne architecture, which overcomes the inherent limitations of static, ground-based systems such as terrain masking and fixed deployment. Sentinel provides early warning, classification, and active interception capabilities using aerial assets such as kinetic interceptors or net-based neutralizers.
