At Inspired Flight, we meticulously design, engineer, and build our drones from the ground up in the U.S. using American components.

Founding Story

Our story began in 2017, in San Luis Obispo, CA. Founded as a UAV motor and speed controller manufacturer, we sought to greatly increase the quality of UAV parts available on the market. We’ve been committed to American manufacturing since those very first days.

Realizing that there was a larger opportunity to take those higher quality components and apply the same design principles towards complete UAV platforms was the turning point for our company. Applying our values of quality, safety, and re-shoring American manufacturing has allowed Inspired Flight to grow and become a true leader in the domestic sUAS landscape.

  • Mapping

    LiDAR

    The Inspired Flight UAS platforms are known for their reliability, stability, and lack of vibration. These attributes allow LiDAR operators to have ultimate confidence that their sensitive payload will be well protected by the performance and safety features of the aircraft.

    Used for a variety of surveying, construction, and infrastructure projects, UAS-based LiDAR allows for engineering-grade 3D models to be captured more efficiently. A UAS team equipped with a LiDAR system will be able to accomplish their objectives much quicker than a traditional land-based survey crew, and at a much lower cost than using traditional aircraft.

    Photogrammetry

    Used in a wide variety of industrial verticals, this form of mapping allows for highly accurate 2D, colorized maps using relatively inexpensive sensors.

    Inspired Flight’s photogrammetry solutions automatically write geotagged metadata directly to the image and camera SD card, allowing for a streamlined mapping workflow.

    The Inspired Flight UAS platforms are all enabled for an RTK/PPK module available as an add-on that enables centimeter level accuracies for mapping and surveying applications.

    Inspired Flight’s UAS systems are designed with interoperability in mind. Modular payload interfaces and open-source ecosystems enable flexibility for an array of use cases. Built for rugged operation, IFT aircraft can withstand adverse conditions and tough operation.

    Examples of use cases IFT aircraft have provided solutions for:

    • Payload Delivery

    Inspired Flight understands that each government and defense customer has unique requirements. Our team of integration engineers works closely with our customers to develop tailored solutions that meet their specific mission needs.

  • Utility Inspection

    The Phase One P3 available on Inspired Flight platforms offers the best image quality on the market with its 100 mpx mechanical shutter. Used for critical infrastructure inspections, the resolution and autofocus capabilities of the camera allows for increased stand-off distances and precise image clarity. This combination creates efficiency of operations and ensures jobs get completed on-time and with accuracy.

    Inspired Flight’s custom designed user interface enables precise control over the system, ultimately allowing for the best data possible.

    Oil & Gas

    Identifying and quantifying gas leaks including hydrogen sulfide and methane is a rapidly growing use case for drone technology as the EPA ramps up its penalties for emission leaks. Using drones to locate abandoned oil wells is also a rapidly growing capability in this industry. Inspired Flight aircraft are capable of integrating with a wide variety of sensors to better enable serving this vertical.

    UgCS Skyhub

    Inspired Flight has integrated the suite of SPH Engineering payloads in order to provide plug-and-play solutions for these applications.

     

  • Public Safety

    UAS are being increasingly used in many Public Safety applications. Emergency management, crowd control, event security, search & rescue, storm response, and drone as a first responder are increasingly adopting this technology in order to reduce risk to first responders and better protect their communities.

    Inspired Flight has partnered with DroneSense to offer full compatibility with their UAS management & collaborative ecosystem. This integration allows Public Safety operators to continue leveraging a critical tool within a familiar ecosystem.

    Our recommended payload for Public Safety operators is the Gremsy Vio, an EO/IR sensor with both thermal and high-zoom capabilities. AI features such as object detection and tracking make this an optimal solution for critical missions.
