SmartPlanes specializes in professional UAV solutions for BVLOS operations, excelling in surveying, mapping, and geospatial applications. Its drones support industries like mining, forestry, and agriculture, integrating advanced sensors for orthophotography, 3D modeling, and GIS data processing.

SmartPlanes overview

SmartPlanes were founded in 2005 to address the need to accurately map crops, mining sites, quarries, forests, construction sites etc. To successfully address these needs, we believe a system is required that is both complex and at the same time easy to use for the non-specialist. The system has to work in realworld conditions and produce results that are useful for the intended application. We are, to sum it up, building drones that do good. And our drones have proven to fulfil the expectations of our customers all over the world.

In 2008 we emerged from the Remote Sensing Laboratory at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Umeå where the founders worked with applied research in forest inventory and remote sensing.  In 2018 Smartplanes was purchased by Origon​ Utveckling AB and founder of SmartPlanes, Olle Hagner stayed in the company. Since then SmartPlanes have more focus on the customers needs, introducing customer event and possibility to complete service agreements.

Today, we are based in Jävre and Hörnefors in northern Sweden. SmartPlanes manufactures its drones in Hörnefors. Our drones are spread and used all over the world.
