uAvionix was founded with the mission of bringing safety solutions to the unmanned aviation industry to aid in the integration of Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles (UAV) into National Airspace Systems (NAS).

Mode 5 Combat ID / IFF Solutions for Tactical UAV
Our RT-2087/ZPX IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) solutions provide secure Combat ID with Modes 1, 2, 3/A, C, S, and 5 interoperability for tactical UAS. The low-SWaP systems are installable on UAVs as small as Group 1 or Group 2.
Engineered to the highest standards, ZPX systems have been tested to meet rigorous environmental and performance specifications, with AIMs Mk XIIB certification pending. ZPX transponders are also compliant with civil airspace requirements as Mode S/1090ES ADS-B transponders, simplifying aircraft configurations.
All ZPX Transponders are crypto-appliqué compatible and contain internal crypto emulators to provide non-classified Mode 5 testing and demonstration capability.
Mode S UAV Transponders
ZPX-A – Mode S Transponder with ADS-B for military & civilian UAS
The ZPX-A is a Mode S transponder with ADS-B capabilities, designed to allow both military and civilian UAS to safely operate in controlled airspace. The AIMS-certified transponder can be recognized by other aircraft with Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems (TCAS) or ADS-B In receivers.
The low-SWaP transponder weighs just 50 grams and can be used by UAS as small as Group 1 and Group 2. Capabilities for military users include control of X-bit in Mode A replies and individual on/off mode control.
IFF Combined Transponder-Receivers
RT-2087/ZPX – IFF Mode 5 Transponder with Mode S and ADS-B (UAS Groups 1-5)
RT-2087/ZPX is the world’s lowest-SWaP AIMS Certified Combat ID and Air Traffic Control surveillance transponder.
Designed to satisfy IFF Transponder, Mode S, and ADS-B requirements, RT-2087/ZPX allows tactical UAS to operate in both battlefield conditions and controlled civil airspace.
The secure system can be combined with a micro-crypto appliqué for the latest NATO Mode 5 encryption capabilities. Options include an integrated ADS-B receiver and ethernet connectivity.
ZPX-1 – Combat ID IFF Mode 5 transponder with ADS-B
The ZPX-1 is a Mode 5 transponder designed to satisfy IFF Transponder and ADS-B requirements for tactical UAS that may operate both on the battlefield and in controlled civil airspace. The low-SWaP transponder weighs just 91 grams and can be used by UAS as small as Group 1.
The unit can be combined with a microcrypto system to enable the latest NATO-approved IFF encryption standards.

ZPR – passive Mode 5 IFF and ADS-B receiver system
The ZPR is a passive Mode 5 L2/2B IFF and civil 1090 MHz ADS-B receiver system designed to provide enhanced situational awareness and detection of aircraft operating either in civilian airspace or on the battlefield.
The low-SWaP unit includes an internal crypto emulator and is ideal for installing in aircraft and vessels as well as portable and permanent ground control stations.

The integrated SBAS GPS receiver meets the performance requirements of RTCA DO-229D and TSO-C145e, providing Source Integrity Level (SIL) 3 operation and guaranteeing visibility to certified avionics in other aircraft as well as Air Traffic Control.

pingRID is a compact and lightweight addon module that enables any drone to achieve compliance with the FAA’s Remote ID regulations. The easy-to-use module comes preconfigured right out of the box, requiring you only to assign your unique device ID to your FAA drone registration.
