Offering best-in-class flight times, the X8 Pro can fly up to 50 minutes, depending on the payload weight. Designed to be future-proof, the Aurelia X8 Pro utilizes open-source hardware and technology across the aircraft. Improvements Over Aurelia X8 MAX
The Aurelia X8 MAX was the aircraft that started us building above the 10kg / 22lb in payload capacity. Now, with the increased demand for heavier drone lifters for customers all across the globe, and extensive feedback from real-world operations we are excited to launch the Aurelia X8 Pro.
With thousands of engineering hours and extensive feedback incorporated into it, the Aurelia X8 Pro is the most advanced and best heavy-lift drone we have ever developed. This platform combines the vision, accuracy, reliability, safety, versatility, and performance of Aurelia Aerospace into one aircraft.
Designed to carry significant payloads with ease of mind the Aurelia X8 Pro features the following:
- Two U.S Made F9P GPS Modules that not only act as a GPS backup if one has a problem, but also can replace the compass. If you are operating in an area with high compass interference, such as around metal infrastructure, the two GPS modules can kick in to take over for the compass and determine the exact heading
- A European-made lightweight parachute system that can shut off the aircraft motors and deploy in an emergency. The system is self-powered, triggers automatically when a fault is detected, and can also be manually triggered. Carry your payloads with peace of mind
- Six obstacle avoidance sensors to ensure that you do not crash into anything while flying
- A parachute in case of emergency is a standard feature of the X8 Pro
- 50-minute flight time, industry-leading flight time for such weight capacities
- 10kg / 22lb payload carrying ability
- Custom-built retracting landing gear
- Armlock mechanism, more modular, easy-to-repair frame structure
- The canopy swings open using a hinge mechanism rather than screws, allowing for quick and easy access to the internal electronics
- ADS-B aircraft detect and avoid modules with a 278km range that can pick up both general aviation (978mhz) and commercial aviation (1090mhz). Previously the ADS-B module could only pick up large commercial aircraft
Pixhawk Flight Controller
The Aurelia X8 Pro features an open-source Pixhawk flight controller, offering endless possibilities to customize your drone for your specific operation. The standard configuration is set up with ArduPilot software, however, upon request, we can install PX4 instead. We offer both the Cube Orange and Cube Blue flight controllers. You can learn more information about both options further down the page.
US-Made Components
We are proud to support domestic supply chains in our products. The Aurelia X8 Pro features extensive use of U.S.-manufactured components throughout its systems. The Cube Blue flight controller and onboard electronics are all manufactured in California, giving you the performance, reliability, and sophistication Aurelia Aerospace strives for. The Aurelia X8 Pro is both NDAA 848 and TAA compliant.
Safety First
Aurelia Aerospace proudly offers the parachute as a standard item on the X8 Pro. This innovative system deploys a parachute in the event of a drone failure, safely bringing the drone down to the ground. This protects people and property below from falling drones and prevents the drone from being damaged or lost. The parachute is the perfect solution for drone operators, public safety agencies, and the military who want to improve the safety and reliability of their drone operations.
8 Motors for Extra Reliability
When a drone that uses only 4 motors loses an engine, the aircraft will immediately lose stability and come crashing to the ground. With the 8-motor configuration on the Aurelia X8 Pro you can fly with peace of mind, knowing that even in the case of a motor failure, the aircraft will stay airborne and maintain stable flight.
Lifetime Product Support
Have peace of mind knowing that Lifetime Product Support comes included with the Aurelia X8 Pro. Upon receiving your Aurelia X8 Pro, one of our technicians will schedule an introductory Zoom call with you to go over the aircraft and answer any questions you may have prior to the first flight. If you ever require any further help with the Aurelia X8 Pro, you can simply scan the QR code sticker attached to your airframe to book a Zoom call. This product support is included for the life of the Aurelia X8 Pro at no extra cost.
Fully Foldable for Easy Transport
In less than 30 seconds, with a click of the button on each arm joint, the Aurelia X8 Pro can instantly fold down, allowing for quick disassembly and easy transportation.
Mission Planning Software
With more than 20 available flight modes, including a new swarm mode (allowing you to fly multiple X8 aircraft at once), the Aurelia X8 Pro has a flight mode for any mission.
The free QGroundControl (QGC) mission planning software available for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS devices allows you to set flight modes, program routes over a Google Maps overlay, set altitudes, geofencing, and much more.
Alternatively, Mission Planner software (also free) is recommended for those looking for mission planning software with additional functionality.

High Quality Electronics
Electronics for the Aurelia X8 Pro have been custom designed and fabricated by Aurelia Aerospace, designed to deliver performance, reliability, versatility, and sophistication.
IP-Rated Motors
Aurelia Aerospace’s custom-designed motors are IP-rated, allowing you to fly in dusty or wet environments without issue. The octocopter design allows the Aurelia X8 Pro to operate with only 8 functional motors, allowing for increased reliability and protection of your payload. In the event the Aurelia X8 Pro is involved In a crash, the propellers are designed to shear, protecting the motors and electronics from costly damage.
Aurelia Assist
Record flight and maintenance logs, view flight checklists, check detailed weather reports, review no-fly zones and restricted flight zones around you, search a digital user manual, and much more with your virtual assistant, Aurelia Assist! The application is easily accessible via any internet browser on a cell phone, tablet, or computer, and all data is stored securely in the cloud. No software downloads are needed.
Aurelia Assist Includes Flight Simulator Software to Practice*
Avoid costly crashes and become an expert at flying your Aurelia X8 Pro without ever touching your physical drone. Included with Aurelia Assist, the flight simulator compatible with Windows computers allows you to use the Radiomaster transmitter included with your Aurelia X8 Pro, connected to your computer via USB to practice flying.
Program flights using Mission Planner in the simulator, and see how changes to the aircraft’s configuration affect its flight performance. See how wind, environmental changes, and more affect the performance of the drone using adjustable settings in the software.
*The simulator is used through the Steam platform
