Manta Ray

Long-Endurance Autonomous Uncrewed Underwater Vehicle (UUV)

Product descripton: Manta Ray by Northrop Grumman Corporation

The Manta Ray is a next-generation uncrewed underwater vehicle (UUV) developed by Northrop Grumman for long-duration, long-range underwater operations in environments inaccessible to humans. Building on more than 50 years of undersea expertise, the platform demonstrates advanced autonomous technologies aligned with DARPA’s vision for strategic undersea capabilities.

Designed for expeditionary deployment and extended autonomous missions, Manta Ray combines payload flexibility, energy-efficient operation, and a modular architecture. The vehicle can operate without on-site human logistics, enter a low-power hibernation state while anchored to the seafloor, and be transported in standard shipping containers for rapid worldwide deployment and field assembly.
