Porter AUV

A long-endurance autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) designed for payload delivery, subsea logistics, long-range surveys, and persistent underwater operations.

Product descripton: Porter AUV by Cellula Robotics

The Porter AUV is equipped with a spacious payload bay, designed to carry various cargo, including equipment for the installation and replenishment of remote subsea power stations. These subsea power stations allow in-field assets and resident vehicles to operate continuously without the need for refueling onshore or resurfacing, thereby enhancing operational uptime and reducing costs by minimizing dependence on resupply vessels.

Key Features

Endurance & Range

With over 45 days of submerged endurance and a 5,000 km range, powered by a hydrogen fuel cell air-independent propulsion system, the Porter offers unparalleled mission duration and operational flexibility, enabling extended deployments and exploration of vast underwater areas.

Payload & Configuration

Porter’s modular payload bays, each with a 2,500-liter capacity, offer flexible configuration options for various missions. The adaptive mission planning interface enables real-time adjustments, while the retractable communications mast facilitates data transmission and control.

Logistics & Maneuverability

Porter’s design fits in a 40-ft ISO container for easy deployment. Covert launch capabilities from shore or ship enhance operational flexibility. Its 8-knot speed, redundant propellers, and hovering capabilities provide exceptional maneuverability and precise station-keeping.

Performance Highlights

  • Capable of swimming from shore.
  • Conducts up to 45 days of operations.
  • Covers 5,000 line kilometers of survey during a single dive.
  • Increases operational efficiency and reduces costs.

Payload Options

Porter has typical geophysical sensors and offers 5,000 liters of payload space. It also accommodates custom skids and deploys off-platform payloads, such as small AUVs, nodes, and an ROV.

Adaptive Autonomy

Porter operates autonomously for 45 days, reducing routine supervision. Using standard interfaces, Porter can be integrated with third-party autonomy packages for mission-specific tasks.

Applications

Long-Range Survey

A configurable survey suite, including SAS/SSS, SBP, magnetometer, and cameras, combined with a mission interface enables autonomous adaptations based on sensor edge processing.

Delivery & Recovery

With 5 cubic meters of dedicated payload space, seafloor surveys for deployment location validation, and hovering capabilities, the system offers flexibility and accuracy in underwater operations.

Integrity Inspection

Autonomous tracking with optical and magnetic sensors safeguards subsea telecommunication and power cables, adapting to environmental changes through onboard processing.

Energy Delivery

The system incorporates a high-capacity hydrogen fuel cell, providing greater than 1 MWh of energy. It enables autonomous docking and wireless power transfer to support subsea assets.
