Skiron-X Small Unmanned Aerial System

Optimized for Simple and Effective ISR Missions

Product descripton: Skiron-X Small Unmanned Aerial System by Aurora Flight Sciences

The Skiron Expeditionary sUAS (SKIRON-X) is a Group 2 UAS that combines the simple operation of an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) drone with the longer range and endurance of a fixed-wing design. Powered by a lithium-ion battery and equipped with an integrated EO/IR payload, SKIRON-X provides endurance and ground resolution for successful airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

Key Features

Hybrid VTOL fixed-wing

Launch and land without auxiliary equipment. Vertical take-off and landing with fixed wing forward flight.

Long endurance

Flight endurance exceeds 3.5 hours with standard battery power. Up to 47 mi (75 km) C2 link range.

Flexible payload

Integrated EO/IR payload options provide excellent ground resolution. Modular nosecone for quick payload swaps or custom integration.

Simplified operations

Quick to train with user-friendly mission planning software and advanced autonomy. Under 10-minute setup time.

Small footprint

Designed for efficient deployment. Transportable by standard pick-up truck with a two-person crew.

Part 107 compliant

Flexibility to fly in more areas for operations and training. Weighs less than 55 lbs and includes anti-collision lights.

Example Use Cases

ISR

Execute successful intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions with high ground resolution EO/IR imagery and a low noise signature.

Research and development

Conduct R&D testing in areas such as autonomous technologies and multi-vehicle unpiloted operations. SKIRON-X can be customized to integrate an R&D payload.

BVLOS

Operate beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) with special waivers and the extended flight time and communications range required.

Communications relay

Connect a communications path between remote locations, over challenging terrain or in an emergency, with long endurance loitering and a mesh-network compatible radio.
