Sonda X8 UAS
Product descripton: Sonda X8 UAS by HD Air Studio
Sonda X8 is a multipurpose, professional coaxial octocopter developed and manufactured in Poland by HD Air Studio. Designed as a flexible aerial platform, it supports a wide range of professional applications through modular architecture, multiple mounting options, and broad compatibility with flight controllers and payloads.
Airframe and Design
The airframe features four folding arms made of reinforced carbon fiber tubes, allowing the drone to be compactly folded for transport while maintaining high structural rigidity in flight. A double locking system secures the folding arms during operation, ensuring reliability and safety.
The landing gear is fixed with quick-release thumbscrews, enabling fast disassembly. Electronics are housed within the central frame and protected by a removable upper cover for easy maintenance access. ESCs are positioned at the end of each arm between the motors to improve cooling efficiency and free up internal space.
Payload Integration and Modularity
Sonda is equipped with upper and lower quick-release mounting systems, enabling installation of a wide range of payloads such as gimbals, mapping sensors, and obstacle-avoidance modules. Internal passage channels connect the lower, center, and upper frame sections, simplifying cabling for complex integrations.
The platform supports custom modifications, and detailed drawings and dimensions are available upon request, making it suitable for tailored professional and industrial use cases.
Avionics and Power
The drone is compatible with multiple autopilot ecosystems, including Pixhawk and DJI flight controllers. It supports optional FPV equipment for BVLOS operations and directional awareness.
Multiple regulated power outputs are available to supply external devices, and battery mounting is located beneath the airframe on a dedicated shelf. The platform is rated IP54 for dust and water resistance and includes built-in LED navigation lights.
Configurations and Performance
Sonda can be delivered as an ARTF (Almost Ready To Fly) configuration with a complete power and propulsion system installed. Flight endurance varies based on battery configuration and all-up weight, with up to 26.5 minutes achievable using high-capacity batteries.
