Sword Cargo 6.0
Product descripton: Sword Cargo 6.0 by Cannon Dynamics
CANNON SWORD is a multi-role, modular flying system designed to tackle challenging missions across both military and civil operations worldwide. The system is easily deployed and operated, featuring automated flights and deliveries. It supports massive payload and sensor/gimbal capabilities, with rapid “swap or drop” options for load containers.
Twin Wing Design
The twin wing configuration eliminates the need for a tail, which traditionally applies downward force to balance the forward center of gravity (CoG). This negative force can reduce lift by up to 20%, creating constant inefficiencies that limit payload capacity, increase drag and fuel consumption, and challenge stability.
Improved aircraft balance, stability and safety.
Two wings relocate the aircraft CoG balance point from the front, always nearer the front or leading edge of a single wing design, to a new position between the front and rear wings.
This more central balance point adds greatly improved stability as control surfaces, now on two wings rather than one, providing double corrective force and double the available redundancy of control surfaces. Safety is thus greatly enhanced!
The twin wings are much shorter, like for like. This makes for safer manoeuvring and reduces wing stress, also enhancing safety. Shorter wings reduce the tipping moment of wind gusts providing improved stability and further reduction of stress to the airframe. Fatigue of the structure is reduced, improving safety and extending operational life.
Lightweight and Durable Frame
Constructed from GRP, SWORD provides excellent rigidity for reliable performance while maintaining flexibility and reducing weight, enabling longer and more efficient flights.
Stable Flight
Thanks to its twin-wing design, SWORD maintains stable flight even in challenging weather conditions, ensuring dependable performance in outdoor operations.
High Endurance & Adaptable
Featuring multiple propulsion options, SWORD is a high-endurance, stable fixed-wing aircraft, adaptable for a wide range of applications that demand both flexibility and endurance.
Features
- Portable, easily handled equipment; transported and protected in convenient carrying cases.
- Large-capacity fuselage for ultra-long missions or heavy payloads.
- Very low magnetic signature for magnetic surveys, mapping, or stealthy surveillance.
- Dual redundant control surfaces for extreme reliability.
- Electric or EFI internal combustion (4-stroke petrol) pusher engines.
- Efficient twin-wing design increases lift by halving wing loading, allowing long flight durations with a reduced wingspan compared to traditional monoplanes.
- VTOL Co-Ax version with hybrid power system converts the UAV into a quadrotor platform; launcher versions also available, along with STOL and STOVL options.
- Ultra-long flights exceeding 24 hours, delivering large UAV performance to commercial users, BVLOS operations, and aircraft DAA capabilities tailored to mission objectives.
