WIY STRILA
Product descripton: WIY STRILA by WIY DRONES
The STRILA interceptor drone, developed by Kyiv-based WIY DRONES, is a high-speed counter-UAV platform specifically designed to neutralize Shahed-136 loitering munitions used by Russian forces. With a top speed reaching up to 355 km/h, STRILA excels in quickly intercepting and engaging fast-moving drone threats mid-air. Its aerodynamic efficiency is enhanced by custom-designed propellers built to withstand high-speed forces while maintaining stable flight.
Equipped with daytime, TV, and thermal imaging cameras, STRILA operates effectively in all lighting conditions, enabling 24/7 operational readiness. The drone’s flight endurance is approximately 15 to 20 minutes, providing a balance between speed and mission duration. It employs a hybrid guidance system where autonomous navigation brings the drone close to the target, and a human operator takes manual control for precise engagement.
Weighing around 10 kg and launched via catapult, STRILA carries a kinetic impact warhead without explosives, minimizing collateral damage while effectively disabling enemy drones. The system integrates seamlessly with Ukrainian Defense Forces’ software, reflecting a mature Technology Readiness Level 7 (TRL-7) status after rigorous testing in simulated combat environments. Though not yet used in active combat, STRILA units are actively tested along known Shahed flight paths, highlighting its strategic role in Ukraine’s evolving defense capabilities.
