X-P4 Fixed-Wing VTOL UAV

The X-P4 Fixed-Wing VTOL UAV is a compact, electrically powered unmanned aircraft developed to meet the growing demand for rapid, autonomous logistics in space-constrained environments. Designed from the outset for precision delivery missions, the X-P4 combines vertical takeoff and landing capability with efficient fixed-wing cruise, enabling it to operate where conventional aircraft and runway-dependent UAVs cannot.

Central to the platform is Pterodynamics’ proprietary Transwing® folding-wing system, which retracts the wings alongside the fuselage during takeoff and landing. This dramatically reduces the aircraft’s ground footprint—requiring less than 30 square feet for VTOL operations—while improving stability in wind and turbulence. Once airborne, the wings deploy into a dihedral configuration that increases lift efficiency and load-carrying stability without increasing power demand.

Powered entirely by an electric propulsion system, the X-P4 is optimized for short-range, time-critical missions such as resupply, ship-to-shore delivery, and distributed logistics. Despite its compact size, the aircraft can carry payloads up to 7 kg, achieving cruise speeds comparable to larger tactical UAVs while maintaining a simple, low-maintenance architecture.

As the first operational member of the Transwing UAV family, the X-P4 serves both as a mission-ready logistics platform and as a technological foundation for larger, longer-range variants. Its ability to launch and recover in confined areas, including from fields, vehicles, or ship decks, positions it as a highly adaptable solution for modern military and industrial logistics scenarios.
