Aerorozvidka overview
Aerorozvidka is a Ukrainian civic-tech organisation and volunteer-born NGO that designs, builds and deploys network-centric and robotic solutions for the nation’s Security and Defense Forces. Founded in May 2014 by investment-banker-turned-soldier Volodymyr Kochetkov-Sukach, battalion commander Natan Chazin and a small group of drone and IT enthusiasts, the initiative has grown from a “garage” war-start-up into an integral capability developer and operational unit within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Guided by the mission of systematically strengthening Ukraine’s defenders through civil-military collaboration, Aerorozvidka manages the full innovation cycle – research, prototyping, combat testing, field integration and post-mission adaptation. Its engineers created the Delta situational-awareness platform, integrate frontline sensor networks, and pioneer multirotor UAVs such as the R18 octocopter, able to deliver payloads or precision-drop munitions with vertical take-off, 40-minute endurance and 5 kg lift.
By emphasising scalability and cost-efficiency, Aerorozvidka turns commercial drones and homemade upgrades into force multipliers, while training soldiers and veterans to operate and maintain them. Aerorozvidka’s vision is to help transform Ukraine’s defence ecosystem to NATO standards, leveraging wartime experience to ensure lasting resilience against Russian aggression.
